What exactly am I buying?
A specific, memorable phone number and everything needed to port it to your carrier: the number and its port-out PIN (transfer PIN). You are not buying a calling plan from GoNumbers.
What is porting and a port-out PIN?
Porting moves a phone number from one carrier to another. Your new carrier asks for the number, the account it sits on, and a port-out PIN (a short code that authorizes the move). We set that PIN and send it in your transfer pack. Full details on what a port-out PIN is.
How long does the transfer take?
Mobile carriers usually finish in minutes to a few hours. Business/VoIP services take several business days, and a few take two to four weeks. Keep your current service active until it completes; you have 90 days from purchase to finish. See porting times by carrier type.
What if the number is taken while I am paying?
Availability is re-verified at the moment of sale. If the number is gone, your card hold is released and you are not charged — just choose another number.
Do calls and texts work on GoNumbers?
No, and they do not need to. The number is delivered for you to port to your own carrier, where your calls and texts run. We sell the number, not a phone service.
Can I get a refund?
If we cannot secure the number, you are never charged. You can get a full refund within 14 days if the number has not been ported; see our Refund Policy. For other refund questions after purchase, contact [email protected] and we will help.
Can I port a number to any carrier or app?
Yes — mobile carriers, prepaid brands, and business/VoIP apps like OpenPhone, RingCentral, Grasshopper, Dialpad and Google Voice for Workspace. Personal Google Voice only accepts mobile numbers, so it is the one exception. See the per-carrier guide.
How are prices set?
Each number gets an automatic beauty score from the patterns that make it memorable, which maps to a price tier. Common numbers are inexpensive; rare patterns cost more. Check any number free at the beauty score tool.
Is the discount real?
The crossed-out figure is a list price (MSRP) for that tier, not an invented former price. What you pay is the price shown, and it is the price charged at checkout.
What information will my new carrier ask for?
Usually the phone number, the account number, the account holder name, a billing ZIP or service address, and the port-out PIN. All of these are in the transfer pack we email you.
